Mission Focus

It is so random and crazy to think that we are in Sri Lanka now! I kinda thought it would be like a little India, but it is totally different, and I absolutely love it! We are staying at an orphanage that is right on the beach, so it is such a cool experience every morning to wake up hearing the ocean!

We arrived in Sri Lanka late on January 3. The first couple of days we didn't do much other than try to figure out our shooting schedule and how we wanted to put this film together. It was a little bit tougher because we basically knew nothing of the ministry until we actually arrived here. AED (Asiana Educational Development) actually has an awesome thing going on here, and it is so cool to see all the aspects of the work that they are doing here. I am looking forward to traveling around a bit and seeing more of the country, it is very fascinating. The weather here is amazingly warm and sunny, although I haven't gotten much of a tan just yet! :)
It has been cool to be with the orphans a little bit and get to know them, although the first couple of days it was hard to adjust because we got so attached to the orphans in India! But these kids are terribly sweet, and after doing a couple of interviews with some kids, it was good to hear their heartbreaking stories from the war and the tsunami and how it has affected their lives. There has been some terrorist activity going on here since we have been here, but we have just heard about it, and it hasn't really affected us.
Anyway, I gotta go, but thanks everyone for praying, I really appreciate it. My health has been good for the most part, so that is awesome.
I will keep you updated as much as I can. It is incredibly hard to get time on the internet here in these 3rd world countries, so that is why you haven't really heard from me! ~ Shanna
