Mission Focus

Wow, I cannot believe I am here in Africa!! I wanted to visit this continent for so long, it is crazy to think that I am actually here! We arrived in Nairobi, Kenya yesterday afternoon, and it has been quite the adventure since then. We pulled out of the airport and saw giraffes in the field by the road, that was just the coolest random thing ever!

We are staying at Nairobi Backpackers, and since there is like this Economic Social Forum thing going on (apparently which adds 150,000 people to the city) everything is TOTALLY booked. So we are staying in the back of a truck tonight! Last night we got a hotel, but it wasn't available tonight, so we'll all be one big happy family sleeping Africa style!

In a couple of days we'll be heading to Kampala, Uganda where we are going to be doing some networking there and visiting some contacts that we have been communicating with. There is so much to film here, it is just so different from anywhere else in the world, and it is all so fascinating. The Africa leg of the trip is definitely gonna be the most adventurous because we are traveling a lot, and we are staying in hostels and stuff. But we should all survive just fine and have a blast here.

The weather here is awesome, hot and sunny, but not muggy at all. The sky seems to go on forever, and it is totally a different feel from Asia. Both are great, just different.

On our flight over here, we stopped in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We only had 5 hours there, but 5 of us (Brian wanted sleep or something crazy like that, which we all know you can get anywhere in the world, but only in this place can you get a stamp for the UAE in your passport!) really wanted to get out of the airport, if nothing else than to get our passports stamped. :) So we went through immigration, got our passports stamped, and for some reason, got our walkie talkies detained because the officials were "not familiar with that technology." So after doing all that, we didn't really have enough time to actually go anywhere, plus the fact that it was still dark and 5 am. We walked out of the airport and just kinda stood there as taxi drivers were like, where are you going, and we are like, nowhere! It must've looked pretty funny to people, because after standing outside of the airport, taking pictures of our group and each other, and discussing what we were doing next, we turned and walked right back into the airport! But hey, now we have officially been to Dubai!

Thanks everyone for all your prayers and support during our trip. I am so excited about what we are doing, and what God has been able to do through us. I definitely can't wait until our next trip!
